The Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Program at Ajman University is an intensive, three-year postgraduate training program designed to prepare dentists for specialized clinical practice in oral and maxillofacial surgery. The program offers broad clinical exposure to surgical procedures, including extractions, dental alveolar surgery, periapical surgery, pre-prosthetic surgery, facial trauma and orthognathic surgery, implant placement, bone grafting, soft and hard tissue pathologies, facial pain, oral medicine cases, and facial esthetic procedures such as Botox and fillers.
Residents gain hands-on experience in hospital-based and outpatient surgical settings under the direct supervision of expert surgeons. The curriculum strikes a balance between surgical skill development, medical knowledge, research training, and professional growth, ensuring that residents are fully equipped to practice independently and ethically in both public and private healthcare settings.
The residency program offers clinical and didactic training, enabling residents to sit for the Membership examination of the Royal College of Surgeons MOMS (Edinburgh). Information on the Royal College of Surgeons Membership Examination can be found at http://www.rcsed.ac.uk/examinations/dental.aspx
